The ‘Tall One’ is now officially the ‘Old One’…

 I don’t know about you, but any opportunity we get to see an actor get older, like really older…well you get the idea.

Gran Torino is half everything you wanted, half not. The half that you want; Clint Eastwood. The half you don’t; all the shitty actors surrounding him. DAVE JOHANNSON, the writer, failed to acknowledge that his finger isn’t on the pulse of a young generation, but instead stuck firmly up EASTWOOD’s ass. 

It’s a sharp divide between the youth and the elderly. On one side you have great, realistic and relatable acting, and on the other side you have something that was crafted to fit it’s niche with older people. Let me explain…

Johannson must be a huge nerd. Anyone under 25 in Gran Torino sounds like a cotton candy icecapades version of youth. To older folks of our time, this doesn’t matter at all. In fact, we (youngins) probably seem that way in real life. But TO US youngins, the lingo and jive-jargon of the youth in this film ‘totes sucks.’

But the fact of the matter is, every pain staking second of bullshit acting is TOTALLY worth it just to see EASTWOOD own the screen as he has many times before. 

And on a final note…if you give this movie 20 minutes and don’t want to stay with it, at LEAST fast forward to the credits where EASTWOOD sings a tribute to the film. It’s like his every breathe is loaded with liquor and smoke. Eh, fuck it, here’s the song…enjoy!
